Refund & Cancellation Policy
Cancellation routes and consumer protections, including for any future paid service.
Current service notice: customer online payments are not enabled. These policies describe the present service and will be reviewed before commercial launch.
1. Current position
LOUGHPOINT LTD is registered in Northern Ireland, company number NI744495, at Forsyth House, Cromac Square, Belfast, Northern Ireland, BT2 8LA. VAT registration is pending. Customer online payments and automatic paid subscriptions are not enabled in the current application. Owner-only Stripe sandbox activity is testing and does not create a customer charge.
Free access codes do not require a card or start paid renewal. You can stop using free access at any time. There is no payment to refund for free access. Contact legal@loughpoint.com to request closure of account access; closure is separate from a privacy deletion request.
2. If you enter a paid agreement
Any paid service must have a confirmed order explaining the total price, service period, billing frequency, renewal and cancellation terms before you commit. Publishing prices does not itself create a paid subscription. This policy does not enable billing or change a separately agreed price.
For business customers, commercial cancellation and refund arrangements are those expressly agreed in the order, subject to applicable law. Business terms cannot be used to remove rights you have as a consumer. The following statutory protections apply where you are a consumer and the relevant law applies.
3. Consumer cooling-off rights
For an eligible distance contract for services or digital content not supplied on a tangible medium, you generally have 14 days after the day the contract is entered into to cancel without giving a reason. If required cancellation information is missing, the cancellation period may be extended by law.
For a service started during that period at your express request, a proportionate charge for what was supplied before cancellation may apply only where the legal conditions, including the required information, are met. The cancellation right is lost on full performance only where the required request and acknowledgement have been obtained.
For digital content supplied during the cancellation period, loss of the cancellation right requires prior express consent to begin supply, acknowledgement that the right will be lost and the legally required confirmation. Merely signing in or using a free access code is not such a waiver. These distinctions must be reflected in any future checkout.
4. How to cancel
Send a clear cancellation statement to refunds@loughpoint.com or by post to our registered office. Include your name, account email and order reference/date if there is one. No particular form is required, and for statutory cancellation it is enough to send your notice before the applicable deadline.
Optional cancellation form: To LOUGHPOINT LTD, Forsyth House, Cromac Square, Belfast, Northern Ireland, BT2 8LA; refunds@loughpoint.com. I/we hereby give notice that I/we cancel my/our contract for the supply of the following service: [service]. Ordered on: [date]. Name: [name]. Address: [address]. Account email/order reference: [details]. Date: [date]. Signature: [only if sent on paper]. Delete as appropriate.
For any separately agreed renewal arrangement, request non-renewal using the method and timing in your order or contact us for help. Do not assume that signing out or closing account access cancels a payment arrangement. The current website has no customer self-service paid-subscription cancellation portal.
5. Refunds and problems with the service
Where statutory cancellation entitles you to reimbursement, we will make it without undue delay and within 14 days after being informed of the cancellation, using the original payment method unless you expressly agree otherwise, without a refund fee. Any legally permitted proportionate service charge is explained above.
Cooling-off rights are separate from remedies for a service or digital content that does not meet legal requirements. Applicable rights to repeat performance, price reduction, repair, replacement, compensation or refund are preserved. No provision imposes a blanket no-refunds rule or makes statutory remedies discretionary.
For a routine refund request, email refunds@loughpoint.com with your account email and order reference/date, if available, so we can help. You do not need to make a complaint to request a refund. You are welcome to return to LoughPoint whenever it suits you. If you wish to make a formal complaint, contact complaints@loughpoint.com with a description and the resolution you seek. Do not email payment-card details or passwords. Your right to seek advice, complain to a regulator or use the courts is unaffected.
